LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25, 2007 -- Tank Sports (OTCBB: TNSP.OB - News) joined the Kids Korps USA and Starbucks Foundation on Saturday, Jan. 20th, to donate bicycles to local children from low income families in Solana Beach, San Diego County, California.
Tank increased donation amounts to bring more smiles onto the kids' faces. Tank also hoped to strengthen the bond with Kids Korps USA and Starbucks Foundation and establish a long term cooperative relationship in making contributions to the local society. "My colleagues and I were very happy with the kids,'' said Jim Ji, Tank general manager.
Robin Chappelow, director of the Kids Korps USA stated, "We thank Tank so much for the beautiful shiny new bicycles. Tank was always so helpful with all the direction for the bike building and especially the quality control after the bikes were built. The kids really loved their brand new bikes and we could not do this without Tank's help.''
Kids Korps USA is a nonprofit youth volunteer organization that engages young people, ages 5 through 18, in community service. The Starbucks Foundation makes investments through its Youth Leadership Grants and supports locally based programs that promote the "Power of Literacy'' and "Leaders in Diversity.'' This joint event of Tank Sports, Kids Korps USA, and Starbucks Foundation was one of the programs for improving lives of local unfortunate children by making donations of bicycles. Tank Sports provided the labor and bicycles while funding was provided by the Starbucks Foundation, and the event was coordinated by the Kids Korps USA.
